Wauquiez Yachts

A lifetime devoted to building extraordinary boats was the destiny of Henri Wauquiez, giving his name to the workshop in 1965.

For a boat to qualify as a Wauquiez there is no need to pile on the superlatives. A single word is enough to capture the essence built into each of our yachts: quality. We have not chosen the path towards industrialisation, we prefer to let our know-how flow freely by offering you original, authentic boats. Boats that are safe, performing and comfortable for all those whose lives are marked by a passion for the sea. That’s Wauquiez !

Boat Building Expertise

Wauquiez builds true blue water sailing yachts: from moulding to structure, rig to deck fittings, impressive quality components are a constant in the building process.

Structure – Floors and stringers are glassed and / or bonded to the hull, as well as the bulkheads. The keel is attached to the hull with stainless steel bolts, and all rigging and appendages stresses are perfectly spread throughout an interconnected structure.

Construction Strength

The Hull – The hull is laid up with bisphenolic resins for the outer layers to help protect your boat in the long run. Today, all Wauquiez hulls are built using the ‘‘infusion’’ process, which not only helps protect the environment, but also ensures an optimum resin /glass-fibre ratio, as well as an exceptional stiffness (balsa sandwich) and important weight savings.

Deck and Equipment

The balsa sandwich technique used for stiffness also gives perfect sound and thermic insulation and reduces any top-heavy tendencies, thereby adding to the stability of your Wauquiez. The hull / deck joint is mechanically fastened and bonded. And if you have decided to go for teak side decks, it is important to know that each slat is fitted separately, in the true Wauquiez building tradition. You will seldom find better rig and equipment than that fitted on a Wauquiez: only the best is good enough. This choice of top quality gear guarantees excellent back-up service in any port of call around the world.
