2001 Beneteau First 47.7

Song of the Wind has spent her life cruising and racing NSW and Victoria coastal waters and has never been chartered. Her owners wanted a fast-cruising vessel, and she has undergone all the modifications to cover the cockpit area and maximise free moving space at the helm and rear deck.

In addition, the owners have invested in fitting her out for coastal cruising with the addition of shade sails, boom covers and Sunbrella bimini and dodger, giving great protection and shelter from the wind and sun while allowing for excellent visibility from the helm. In 2017 she underwent full rigging replacement, including new furler and forestay.

Another cruiser-friendly addition is the symmetric spinnaker which makes for fast and comfortable sailing off the wind, deployed easily from a custom-made sock.

Song of the wind can accommodate up to eight guests in three cabins, with additional double day- bed in the main cabin (via lowering table) overnighting made easy…

For anyone wishing to spend extended periods of time aboard, the yacht offers extended storage in the starboard aft cabin and custom storage under the master bedspace.  Along with side and cabin underfloor areas there is ample space for provisioning.

The great galley layout has a deep pan storage area along with the food and dry good storage at arm’s reach, so there is no need to disturb guests when cooking in this vessel.

The dining table seats 8 people comfortably including the use of two ottomans. This new layout still gives easy access through the cabin when people are seated.

Song of the Wind’s (6 foot plus head room) interior has been maintained immaculately and her cherry wood finish is warm and inviting with cream leather upholstery. There is an abundance of natural light through nine opening ports and two overhead hatches – as well as a large skylight which can be lit at night. Her entertainment systems have been upgraded with new stereo sound system as well as two flat screen (smart) TVs, one in the main cabin and one in the master bedroom.

Everything about Song of the Wind, from the counter-moulded structure to the appendages, from the cabinetwork to the deck plan, from the steering system to the sail plan and rig, has been studied closely, with the aim of making this First 47.7 a reference piece in the world of ocean racing and cruising.

Come and see.
